Volunteer Center Southwark offers training throughout the year on all aspects of volunteer management from developing new volunteer programmes to dealing with difficult volunteers. Training sessions can be a half or full day and we also run interactive workshops.

Half-day training courses last for 3 hours and are aimed at volunteer managers, who are new to managing volunteers or are in the process of moving away from informal to more formal volunteer programmes and cover the following topics:

- Inclusive Volunteering
- Involving Young Volunteers Mental Health Awareness
- Keeping Volunteers: Support, Supervision and Rewards
Share and Learn events are 1.5 hour sessions for volunteer managers who already have some experience in managing volunteers but would like to recap or expand on existing knowledge. The sessions are active problem solving sessions and give attendees the opportunity to bring problems or challenges they currently face to the table and cover the following topics:
Creating good role descriptions and volunteer packs
Vetting and Screening Volunteers
Problem Volunteers
- Volunteer Recruitment and Induction Made Easy
- Volunteering and the Law
- Inclusive Volunteering
- Involving Young Volunteers Mental Health Awareness
